Travel Plans

Arrival in Islamabad

Arrive at Islamabad airport, meet your guide, and transfer to hotel. Briefing session, paperwork, and free time for rest or sightseeing depending on arrival time.

Islamabad to Skardu (by flight/road)

Take a scenic flight to Skardu (weather permitting) or travel by road via the Karakoram Highway. Overnight stay in Skardu, the gateway to Baltoro and K2.

Skardu – Rest & Preparation Day

A day for acclimatization, sightseeing in Skardu, and final trek preparations. Explore Kharpocho Fort, Sadpara Lake, or local bazaars.

Skardu to Askole (3,000m)

Drive by jeep through rugged valleys to Askole, the last village before Baltoro Glacier. Meet porters and camp overnight.

Askole to Jhola

Begin trekking along the Braldu River. Cross suspension bridges and pass through arid landscapes before reaching Jhola campsite.

Jhola to Paiju (3,400m)

Trek to Paiju, the last green campsite before entering the glacier zone. Views of Paiju Peak and Cathedral Towers appear in the distance.

Rest & Acclimatization at Paiju

A vital rest day for acclimatization. Porters prepare food for the glacier trek ahead. Optional short hikes around Paiju.

Paiju to Khoburtse

Enter the Baltoro Glacier. Trek along the ice and moraine with breathtaking views of Trango Towers and Uli Biaho. Camp at Khoburtse.

Khoburtse to Urdukas (4,050m)

A short but steep trek to Urdukas campsite, located above the glacier with panoramic views of granite spires and peaks.

Urdukas to Goro II

Trek deeper into the glacier zone surrounded by giants like Masherbrum. Camp on the glacier at Goro II under a canopy of stars.

Goro II to Concordia (4,650m)

Arrive at Concordia, the legendary amphitheater of mountains. Witness K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum IV, and countless other peaks surrounding the junction.

Excursion to K2 Base Camp & Gilkey Memorial

A full-day trek to K2 Base Camp (5,150m). Visit the Gilkey Memorial dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on K2. Return to Concordia or camp en route.

Excursion to Broad Peak & Gasherbrum Base Camps

Optional side treks to Broad Peak Base Camp and towards the Gasherbrum I & II area, offering rare close-up views of these massive 8,000m peaks.

Concordia to Goro II

Begin the return journey, trekking back along the glacier to Goro II. Enjoy different lighting and views of the same landscapes.

Goro II to Khoburtse / Paiju

Continue the descent along Baltoro Glacier, retracing steps with new angles of Trango Towers and Cathedral Peaks. Overnight at Khoburtse or Paiju.

Paiju to Askole – Drive to Skardu

Complete the final trek back to Askole. Board jeeps for the return journey to Skardu, where a hot shower and comfortable hotel await.

Skardu to Islamabad – Departure

Fly back to Islamabad (weather permitting) or travel by road. Evening farewell dinner and transfer to airport for departure.
